About Our Client: Our client is a well-established precision engineering business based in South-West Sydney. They service companies across various industries including mining, rail, hospitality, medical, and oil, and are proudly family-owned. An opportunity has arisen for an experienced CNC Machinist to join their friendly team in a permanent role.
The Role:
Working 7 am to 3:30 pm Monday to Thursday, and 7 am to 1 pm on Fridays, you will program and operate CNC lathes and mills working on a range of interesting jobs. Each day you will:
- Interpret engineering drawings
- Program, set, and operate multi-axis CNC mills and CNC lathes
- Ensure quality assurance including final inspection and measuring your work to strict tolerances
- Operate a forklift (counterbalance)
- Ensure your workspace is tidy through general housekeeping
- Assist in other areas of the business as needed
Selection Criteria:
The successful candidate will possess the following experience and attributes:
- A minimum of 3+ years of experience programming and operating CNC machines (essential)
- Ability to read technical drawings
- Great attention to detail
- Current LF forklift ticket
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- You will be reliable, punctual, and a true team player
- Trade qualifications such as Fitter and Turner will be highly regarded
- Supervisory experience will be highly regarded
- The unrestricted right to live and work in Australia
